Community Involvement...
Helping Hands Project
Giving back to the community!
The Helping Hands Project was established in 1990 to raise funds to be
donated locally to those in emergency need situations related to the
housing industry.
We also participate yearly in the American Cancer Society Relay for
Life and were instrumental in facilitating the Luminaria program.
Spirit defines our community, both in Kern County and at Coldwell Banker.
Clothing, furniture, appliances, temporary housing and linens are just
a few of the contributions made to families in our area. Special needs
have also arisen, both locally and nationally. Two notable cases were
the provision of burial funds for 2 children and contributions to
families devastated by Hurricane Andrew. In 1995, Helping Hands, in
conjunction with the Sheriff's Department, donated a call box along the
Kern River bike path.
Helping Hands donates grants to local organizations. Past recipients include:
- American Cancer Society
- Kern Aquatics
- ALS
- Golden Empire Gleaners
- Boy Scouts of America
- Optimal Hospice
- Valley Achievement
- American Heart Association
- EB Lions Club
Relay for Life
At Coldwell Banker we strive to make a better community for ourselves and everyone around us. That?s why we invest our time so heavily in Relay For Life. We believe in not only finding a cure but in also supporting the community of cancer survivors and those who have lost a loved one to this terrible disease.
The Bakersfield donation total was $1,712, 827, almost $34,000 more than last year! We are number one in the world! We?d like to congratulate our Coldwell Banker team who raised $42,871 for Relay For Life. Thank you team members for showing that the compassion and dedication you possess doesn?t stop with the sale of a home.
Donations for the 2010 Relay for Life are being accepted now.
